Thank you for letting me take out the new Wilson Clash Tour demo. I have been playing tennis a long time and as you know, over the years I have been a student of the newest technology in racquets. That being said, I have never picked up a new racquet and had such an immediate feeling of comfort and play-ability as I did when I tried the new Clash last weekend.
The highlights for me were:
Amazing feel/touch on all shots
Surprising power for a racquet with such a low flex rating
Ground strokes - I could take full rips at the ball and still have great control, balls were landing deep near the baseline, I was able to create plenty of topsin
Serve - tons of pop, spin and control
Net shots - again, great touch, feel and crisp volleys
Huge sweet spot
I currently play with the Wilson Staff and have been looking for a 100 sq. inch frame for the increased sweet spot. Everything I tried was either too stiff or the thick beam made it hard to maneuver the racquet. Not at all the case with the clash! I found my new racquet!
